An Embarrasing confession
I have absolutely no idea how to meet women. I tried the internet but the only messages I got were scams trying to get me to join online "adult" dating sites.

You could also trying taking adult education classes that women would be interesting in. You could even meet a nice mother -- say in a gourmet cooking class or a pottery class where you learn to make a cool coffee cup -- with a just as nice daughter she'd introduce you to. Or try joining some club comprised of men and women, like the Sierra Club, if you can enjoy the outdoors.
You have to put yourself in more and more situations where women are. You could even find a forum online for something you are interested in and hang out there posting messages with other members.
Many people meet perspective romantic partners through friends: Blind dates (that sometimes suck, but sometimes work out), weddings, parties, cook outs, etc. If you haven't already done so, you could even put out the word to your friends that you are looking to meet a nice women and ask their advice. They just might know of someone, or, better, introduce you to someone.
Part time jobs can open the door to women. Ever see how many young women are working in retail and grocery stores? I met women this way many years ago when I was about your age.
Yahoo, I believe, has a legit dating site that might work, though it's not easy finding the right woman on these sites. Some are looking for big $$$, but not all. It's kind of a crapshoot, and sometimes the results are disappointing.
And with online dating sites the better you write about yourself and what you are looking for, the better the results you get. If you write a brief, non-descriptive profile it reduces your chances of meeting someone. It's kind of like advertising, but with truth and sincerity that women can feel when they read about you.
In a word, you have to work at this a little, but it's fun work, and the reward is a nice lady to be with. In the past, I met women in all these methods I outlined above. I met my wife online, and she's the sweetest woman I've ever been with. If I can do it, you can too, especially at 20 when there are more single women around in that age bracket.

Join a dating site where they arrange someone suitable for you to go out on a date with.
Join a chat site where you can chat with women and get to know them.
Ask your friends to set you up with someone for a date.
Go to clubs or pubs and see if there is anyone there you like - then buy them a drink and start chatting them up.
There would be someone suitable for you out there, you just need to try a bit harder to find them.
