My beautiful Christmas gift and big o*****
I hung out with a lot of friends, giggling and unwrapping gifts after gifts. My husband had given me a beautiful gold wrist watch; he sure knew what I wanted to get. Dressed up for good family snapshots, spread the pictures online to relatives and family friends asking for them and . . . really had lots of fun and good steaming s** with my husband to cap it all. We both had beautiful o******.
This morning, I clicked open the New Testament in my system and this was what I read:
Second Peter chapter two verse three: Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. 4They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created. . . 9The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. 10But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly ” NLT
The gold wrist watch reminded me of two things; Jesus whose birthday brought so much fun and joy to me got gold as a gift from the wise men on his birthday 2015 years ago. The watch in the gold reminded me that time is ticking; the Lord whose birth we were celebrating said that he will be back. And one of the things his Spirit said will characterize the nearness of that time is that people will "mock the faith while following their own desires". Jesus himself had earlier in Matthew twenty four verse twelve that "wickedness will increase". Terrorism and fear will increase (Luke twenty one verse twenty six NIV)."
Yes, I had good fun but I could really indeed appreciate my Lord the more. My prayer is that we all as we celebrate will love one another like he taught, love him and above all turn to him and have life in abundance.
