I tell my baby son that I'm still in love with his daddy even though we're not together anymore.
I know he doesn't understand what I'm saying, but it makes me feel better to tell SOMEONE... ANYONE...
Treat a child like a child. Tell someone else, please..
If you still feel these emotions, tell someone other than your child. Like you said, he doesn't really understand it, so he'll misinterpret it and it will cause difficulties in his/her acceptance in the marital situation.
Overall, not a good idea.

Just don't tell him ** like that when he is actually old enough to understand. You don't want to put your son in the middle of a situation like that.
