Bad surprise

Purely by chance, I learned through a buddy of mine that my 19yo stepdaughter is working as an **. She had been in college full time and a waitress at a restaurant, until the virus changed things. I should tell my wife what I know, but she'll want to know how I know it and i can't tell her that, because she would expect me to disclose sources and circumstances that I can't disclose. So I don't know what to do.
