Why are people so scared to love?

I am a hopeless romantic. I love rom coms and romance novels. When I see how people become so jaded about love it’s heartbreaking. I wish more people were focused on not being scared to care. There are people who care and would do what it takes to step up but you have to love yourself first. Don’t let jaded souls take that away from you. Life is too short to be miserable and alone. Also, this goes for married couples as well. Just because you’re together doesn’t mean you stop dating each other. Make an effort to show you care. Be honest about what you want. Don’t settle for less. Find someone who understands your love language. Get to know the person before sleeping with them. You will find someone that loves you for being you.
