I've never met the love of my life
I think the love of my life is a man whom i never met and who was born 43 years before me. i know him through his music and his words preserved in videos and books. i believe we are kindred spirits, but he died 10 years ago. my love for him is making it hard for me to have a successful relationship.
As hard as it may be to let go of the feelings you have built up for him, that is what you need to try to do. You don't have to forget him entirely, just accept that there is nothing you can do to change the past. If he passed away a while ago and you never knew him, you two probably weren't meant for each other, otherwise you would have been brought together. Live your life the best and happiest you can, and just remember to live in the present, not the past!
