Saying "I Love You" Already?

So this is gonna be short. My best friend has been dating guys she met online through this chat site with Avatars. She has been in many short-lived relationships and the week after they start dating they're already saying, "I love you". Currently she started dating this guy through chat and they dated 3days-week after she broke up with her last bf(also through site) who she dated for 3 months and intended on moving in with. Sadly this has been a pattern. I just wanna smack her and her bf's in the head because it won't last long and she'll get bored with them and move on and get a new one and the whole, "I love you" thing starts all over. I know all I can do is love her and support her decisions but it's just not a good idea for her to be doing this.

  • Eventually, she'll be able to smell desperation, just as you can, and will avoid it without prompting. Unfortunately, that's a sense she has to develop on her own, and she'll do that, but only by virtue of experience. Also unfortunately, there's not much you can do to encourage or assist in the development. That said, if you feel that she is placing herself in physical danger, then you have to point that out to her, and (if the situation warrants it) to her parents, her siblings and perhaps even the law.

  • Tell her how you feel. There's no harm in telling her what you think of the situation she's in and that you're looking out for her as a friend.
But I'm afraid you can only tell her what you think, not what to do. She makes her own choices.

  • Yeah I'm just not sure how to word it you know? I know I can't force her to do things...but I wish she knew better about it especially after her real life relationships ended with a*******.
