I use to fantasies about becoming a great doctor, traveling the world, and helping may people while learning about different cultures. But recently I feel like what i need is to buy a nice home and settle down to having a family. I'm only 26, so why is my biological clock ticking louder and louder everyday and making me neglect my studies and focus on nesting?!

  • Has something happened in your life recently that has upset your sense of stability? Maybe you don't even realize it, but a big change (like losing a loved one or moving or a new job) might make you crave the steadiness of a home life. Also, if many of your friends are settling down to have kids, you may feel left out of the bunch. However, if this is your longtime dream, I suggest you pursue it, at least for a few years. Think of it this way: you still have plenty of time to settle down and have kids. But once that happens, you can't go back to traveling and running your own life until your kids are out of the house and you retire. Do you want to live your life in regret of what you didn't do, or wait until you are satisfied and can happily start a family, knowing that you have already had plenty of adventures?
