I'm kinda cheap. One time I heard that 7-Eleven was offering free Slurpees to celebrate some big anniversary of theirs. No other purchase was necessary either.
I've loved Slurpees since I was a kid, so I walked into an empty 7-Eleven store and and asked about the promotion. The cashier pointed to a stack of small styrofoam cups and said those were for the free Slurpees. I thought I should buy something so I didn't look cheap, but I resisted the urge and walked out with this tiny Styrofoam cup of Slurpee. Yes, indeed, I felt cheap.
When I was in college, a friend of mine was president of the nurse's association. Whenever he had an event or function, he'd order shoes from a newspaper ad, wear them to the function, then send them back. Postage was usually free, so, he did it all the time. That, was cheap! And he admitted it all the time.

Oh, SLURPEES? I thought they said, "herpes"...
I love Slurpees too and would take a free one! Nothing cheap about that.
