I told my parents and friends I'm going to be an international studies major in college. I plan on switching to religious studies instead. My dream is to go to Harvard Divinity school and become a minister. I'm afraid people would judge me if they knew.
Find a mentor before you switch. Get a true taste of what you think you are going to do.
International studies is still a good option. Get a language in there and you might actually find employment, but more importantly experiences and memories for life if you travel for your work.
It's not their call. Do what you want; it doesn't matter what they think because you need to do what's right for you.
You want to pastor but are afraid of what people would think?
I think you should tell your parents the truth, and that they should support your desires 100%.
