Tough guys that die
I had a friendly relationship with a man named Louis Nicholson. I'm giving his name because he died. When I was sitting down with him at my pub sipping my ale his signature statement is that he was one of the most dangerous men I coud ever know. He said that it may be possible that someone could whip him in a fight but it had not happened yet. He was a Vietnam veteran who had killed over nine commies as a sniper. During his youth he had killed his brother in law after he was arrested for molesting my friends nieces. He was tried as a juvenile and released by age 19.
I liked him despite the fact that he talked like this. He was interesting in other ways and his job which was an air conditioning repairman for high rise skyscrapers took him to areas that many other men would fear to tread. He was without fear.
His liver was his undoing. He didn't over drink but for some reason his liver gave out. This killed him.
I miss this crazy guy. My life was boring and sitting with him and listening to his tales amused me. He enjoyed my company because I listened to him.
He died in 2009. I was 62 and he was 61.
