When I was 19 I was dating a girl I met at church who was 18. She was studying teaching and lived at home with her mom. We signed up to go to a Christian youth conference in Hawaii. We decided we would like to fly out a week before and spend time sight seeing.

About a month before we went, my girlfriend says to me: "mom has put me on birth control". Not "I've gotten the pill" or something.
