A tale of two guns. One cheap one expensive.
I'm retired as is my former Doctor who lives in town with me. We are both retired getting checks in the mail. We both enjoy target shooting and one day he asked me to come to his farm which he doesn't farm but just owns the land and shoot with him.
He owns a Ruger 9mm carbine which costs way more money than my relatively cheap Hi Point 9mm carbine.
He said he thought my Hi Point was a piece of ** and I said we'll see about that.
We fired over 100 rounds at various targets with my weapon never jamming. His weapon didn't jam either but costing at around $1000.00 it definitely should not
My Hi Point went toe to toe with his expensive carbine.
After we finiished shooting I told him that my carbine came with a life time guarantee just like his did and even if something went wrong I could buy three of my carbines and save $100.00 if I bought Hi Point instead of a Ruger.
If a Hi-Point is all you can afford then that's fine, but can it run several thousand rounds? Will it shoot well past 100 yards? 200? 400 yards? If you enjoy it that is what matters but if your life depends on it I would consider if it is something you can run fast and hard. Does it have to be a KAC or LMT? No. But for a few hundred more tha. Your Hi-Point you can get yourself into a decent AR.
That's nice, but Hi-Point makes junk. Just remember the old adage... "cheap is expensive."
