I recently went back to college at 39. I felt frompy and old. I was focused on everything except myself. In one of my classes a guy, about 1 year older than my son, is so **. If you're not married, who cares. My boyfriend is several years younger then me and we get along great. Even if it's just to make you feel better, if he's up for it I say go for it.
