My boyfriend smokes heroin

I finally have pretty solid proof, but I have not confronted him about it. I had suspicions in the past, but they were not well founded, and he was able to talk his way out of it by admitting to me that he takes prescription opiates. Earlier today, I found hollowed out pens in his bathroom cabinet with a black sticky residue on them, and I have noticed that he keeps an entire roll of aluminum foil next to his bed. I tried so hard to find the heroin, but I couldn't find it. I bet it is in his room. Anyway, I want to confront him, but I want to wait because 1. I want to find the drug, and 2. I want to wait until after I graduate on Saturday. My parents really like him and they will be in town. I want to make this as least awkward as possible on my family. This whole situation makes me feel so stupid and embarrassed about being with him for so long and being totally ignorant to his drug habit. He is such a nice guy, my family would be floored if they found out about this :(

  • wait to find it dont ask for a drug test that could ruin the trust he might think you have in him.

my bf has the same problem i dont look through his stuff cuz i already know he does all his friends tell me and hes been on the verge of telling me although he has kinda told me he does "bad" things all hes kinda admitted to is taking lots of pills....and not for a medicle reason

  • Tough situation, for sure. Even if he admits it and vows to quit you would have a tough road with an addict. Plus, who knows what else he's hiding from you. Don't worry about your parents or anyone else, do what is best for you in the long run.

  • Couldn't agree more with this comment. Don't turn a blind eye, confront him about it when you can. You have to take care of yourself, and not enable his drug abuse. If he says he doesn't, then he won't mind submitting to a drug test to prove otherwise. His world is about to change, and hopefully it will be for the better and he can get the help he needs. Good luck to you! Congrats on your graduation.
