I think it's funny that even if someone was to come across any of my confessions on this site...they'd have no proof that it was me. And I could deny deny deny all I want!
Most people who know me probably know mine when they see them.
Actually, there are ways to trace the computer IP address you're using, if you have inside knowledge. So unless you're writing from school or a library, one could track it to your home and then maybe you'd blame it on your brother or sister, but in light of any specific confession, that'd be hard to believe if the facts of the confession point to you.
Confessor has just proven to her/himself and everyone else how shallow and lacking a life they are/have.
Yes you could but you'd only be hurting yourself. You would be left with a guilt conscious and in the end you would do the right thing anyways. We always do
