  • You ARE an artist. What you are not, is selling art. Being an artist is getting what you put into it. Getting what you WANT out of art requires you to sell. You must sell yourself, sell your idea and sell the reason why people can't live without your amazing art.
Your art must relate to who you are getting it to, and if not, you must relate it to them. People will buy anything, I know, I sell art. the artists that make money are not the skilled or talented artists, but the ones who know how to market themselves and their ideas. Utilize the ideas anon. gave you. Make people want you, and they will want your stuff. Really.
    Don't ever give up.

  • I know how you feel. The best thing I can say here is that promotion is key in getting your work seen. Do link exchanges (offering to post to someone's blog or site in exchange for them posting yours on theirs), create tear-off tab posters, business cards (you can create them on your computer with Microsoft Publisher, on websites like VistaPrint, or at office supply stores like OfficeMax and Staples), and use social networking sites to your advantage; interaction with your potential customers is also vital!
