Just lock the door please

In our office we have unisex bathrooms. Meaning anyone can use any of them but they are for single use only. Yesterday I walked in on the marketing guy and he was masturbating. I quickly shut the door and said sorry. Now I am too embarrassed to walk past his office. Why couldnt he just have locked the door?
