Suicide as revenge
I had a friend who was jewish. His father was the Captain of the local police force. His son was a college student in first quarter of his senior year.
I went to the same University. One day my friend brought home a C on his report card and his father in my presence screamed in his face about how he wasn't paying his hard earned money for such ** grades and if he didn't bring home better grades the next quarter he (his son) would have to pay the "** TUITION HIMSELF"
I didn't say anything although I thought plenty. After I saw this friend again I tried to make him feel better. It didn't work. He was really down.
The boy shot himself. When I heard the news I freaked out myself. He wasn't my best friend but he sure deserved better than he got.
At the funeral his father was inconsolable. A big strong policeman crying his eyes out over his only child. I didn't try to console him. It was his fault this had happened. Even though he was my fathers friend.
I told my father how I felt about him. I told my father that if he ever planned to invite his friend over to let me know ahead of time so I could leave and not be there with him.
I graduated with a not quite B average and I made a great living until I was able to retire. A C in college for some courses and for some people is an OK grade. No need to scream in your childs face for bringing one home.
