The day my Uncle beat the ** out of his son my cousin
I was spending the night with my two cousins when the two of them started arguing over a hammer. The older one was using it and the younger one wanted it and kept bugging his older brother to give it to him.
He gave it to him alright. Right upside his head. The younger brother was knocked unconscience. He was bleeding from his scalp.
My Uncle ran into the room and all of us went to the hospital. A doctor there examined the injured brother and said that the injuries looked worse than they really were.
His head was bandaged and he was given some pain killers. The doctor said hed have a knot for a few weeks but the skull wasn't broken.
We went home and my Uncle told the older brother to go to his room. My Uncle went into the room too and he took off his belt and he beat the living ** out of the older brother. The boy getting the whipping sometime during his punishment sneered at his father and he really got his ** whipped when he did that.
My Uncle took me home and the next time I saw my cousins was several weeks later. The older brother showed me his ** and even though it was over three weeks later his ** was every color of the rainbow.
He finally healed but he was so traumatised he never got over it.
I see people freak out about these beating. This is common among many cultures. I'm not saying it was o.k. or it is a good way to raise your kids but I have seen and lived it. Now there were extreme things that I heard or see. Some parents hit so hard with wooden spoon braking bones - starving child - using electric cord . . . I could go on and on with stories like that. But overall a good discipline with a belt out to do the tricks. I don't personally do it because to me all it did was make me more rebellious. I got beat up because I beat up this white kid calling me slurs at school. Of course the teacher did not mentioned this to my rents. So when I got back to school the week after, I waited after the class in the street then I beat him again until he lost a tooth. I got beat by my dad big time. But it was worth the pain. Most of my non white friends did received beatings at home or the threat of it. For my part the most beating I did with my kids was used 2 fingers on top a foot with a "** off/mad at you/pain look" when my kids where toddlers. And I only hat to do it once. I think the most effective part was the look. Because I recall when did "hit" on top of the foot with my fingers they mostly taught that I was playing a game. But when the look came after that was it. So no need to hit. Just the look. And talk to explain why this or that was not good after the consequence. But sometime parents aren't perfect and they tend to do what was done to them. It is not an excuse to do it but some off them just tend to redo the same thing over and over without actually thinking about the effectiveness of it. They don't think about it and start a vicious cycle instead of opting for something more constructive.
A good spanking is a good punishment. Be thankful that the boys father was strong enough to give such punishment. Punishment should hurt.
