I'm the ** who hooked up with our mutual best friend while he was away for the summer. I'm his literal worst nightmare. I'm my own worst nightmare. I hate myself so much. I feel completely deflated and useless. I don't know what I'll do if he leaves me.

In the future the best way to avoid these problems would be if you have a boyfriend who is leaving for the summer and you don't think you can wait, just tell him you want to be free to date other people and revisit when he gets back.
