Want the old life

My partner of 5 years is disabled and depressed. I take care of her every need and arrange for care when I work. I would like to go out and do fun things but more and more she backs out of plans last minute so it makes me not even want to plan anything. She is under the care of a psychiatrist and getting medical help. There is an event I want to attend and I asked her if she would mind if I went alone if she didn't want to go. She told me that she would feel left out. Should I just go?

  • I hope you check back and post how you're doing. <3

  • Yes you should. I saw this cheesy thing online, but it's true. You can't keep setting yourself on fire to keep another warm. I take this to mean if you keep destroying yourself to make another happy there will be nothing left of YOU.

You need to live. Life is short. Too short. Good Luck <3

  • Thanks. I needed to hear this!

  • It's the truth. I hope you can carve out some time and happiness for yourself. You'll be better for her too if you're happy.
