You know what...

...the first thing I noticed when I saw Barack Obama for the first time, and learned that he was running for president?

That he was a Democrat.

NOT that he is part African American.

It's one of the few things I'm proud of concerning myself. It gives me some hope for the rest of mankind to catch up, and leave their racist, disgusting beliefs behind.

  • I didn't even notice either!

I don't call myself "colorblind" because that isn't always the case
and the color of someone's skin IS a part of them...

but the first thing I noticed was that I like his ideas better than hillary's

  • I saw him on Oprah before he was announced as a candidate for President, and I thought to myself, Please, God, let this man be our next president. It has nothing to do with the fact that he is black, just that he is a great man and he inspires hope and change. At the same time, I feel proud that the race barriers are finally being knocked down. It feels good knowing that my children will learn that not alll of our presidents have been white men. Hopefully, soon we can get a woman in the whitehouse, and really even things out!

  • I'd be lying if I said that I did NOT notice he was black. However, I also noticed that he was articulate and coherent. I read both his books, read about his background and his platform, and voted accordingly. The problem he's going to face is, this country is a long way from recovery, and now his opponents are going to use every opportunity to blame him for all this s*** that was in the pipeline long before he was elected. And most of the knee-j*** Joe Six-Packs are going to believe them.
