Are blacks partially responsible for racial prejudice?

Looking over my working days, college and high school I experienced a lot of negative things. Not all blacks were stupid or violent but being in school with them created a nervousness that I have to this day. Some of them started fights with you because you wouldn't give them your money or for the ** of it.

I saw ** sucking on the bus when I was in grammar school. It was girls under twelve sucking their boyfriends off. This became a more or less common sight. It continued through high school and when I got to college the problems didn't end there. Blacks came to class after the bell and raised ** at the Professors when they were told to go to the Dean. They usually dropped out in their freshman year but before that they caused quite a lot of trouble.

Riding the bus in town was dangerous. Blacks on dope or drunk picked fights and I saw one black guy shoot and kill another black. Incidentally, I never rode another bus after that.

I buy a house and when a family of blacks move in the neighborhood I sell the house and move elsewhere.

I grew up and started my own family and me and my wife work two jobs to keep our children in a white learning environment. The few blacks attending those schools are usually better than most other blacks.

Yes when you watch blacks rioting when some cop shoots a black guy who deserved it which is almost all the time is enough to cause anyone to be leery of them and this includes the more productive members of the black race.

    • How would they be responsible if they dont have any power. Being a good pet ** .. And pleasing whites .. Wont stop you from being killed or victimized by them.

    • Dear fool,

No one has any power, regardless of race.
Some people like yourself, think they do, but they don't.

An individual/s and some specific collective groups believe they have power, but it's an illusion.

When you realise that, you can be excused of chatting utter rubbish!

    • I don't know where you live, but I live in the country in New York State. We have so many red neck trailer park trash up here, it is unreal. I live in a trailer park too, but it is because of financial reasons, I don't consider myself "trash". I have not had much exposure to people of other races, but what I have had has always been positive. I see the type of people you are talking about on tv, but I know that all black people aren't like that, just like all white people aren't trailer trash.
It sounds like you are afraid of black people. Don't isolate yourself and your family, get out there and make friends with people of other races, I think you will be surprised at how positive it is.

    • Don't know where in new york state you live because I've never seen a red neck up in new york. lol Much less trailer trash. Been there multiple times, had friends from different areas in ny(including the city)

    • Don't presume the majority of black people, are to blame for racial prejudice, because of the negative behaviour you witnessed, from a minority of black people. To question it, is natural. But to assume it, is ignorant!! Throughout my teenage and early adult years, I witnessed negative behaviour from women and the majority were white. I didn't question whether they behaved that way, because they were white. I booked it down to, individuality. They were and are simply, ugly hearted people. I don't stereotype any white person, because of the negative behaviour of a minority of white people. Just like I don't stereotype and presume white people are racist, because of the history of black slavery.

So my point is, don't be ignorant and presumptuous of the black race. You haven't encountered, every single black person on earth. Treat people individually.

I'm a black woman. I graduated High School, College and University.
I'm returning to pursue a Doctorate in Psychology. I've never committed crime and I don't have a criminal record. I live in a crime free area, have a good career, a car and my own house.
Would you presume I'm partially responsible, for racial prejudice?

    • I'm the OP and I don't paint every black person with the same brush. I grew up in a poor working class neighborhood and this is probably why these things happened.

    • Possibly.

      Respect and peace :)

    • You appear more prejudiced, than you realise. Or maybe you are aware you're and now trying to justify it. You can't justify prejudice.
I suggest you re-read your confession and you still don't comprehend the prejudiced/discriminatory parts you've written, it's too late for you to change your attitude/view points on the black population.

    • Depends on your behavior. To be quite honest with you. Where I live, most of the problems come from the black community-- however it's not just a clear cut to say "it's all blacks"... The thing is, trouble starts when you have a "ghetto" and these people tend to act violent, irresponsibly, etc.

It's funny because I've met a lot of blacks out crying racism-- and five minutes later make fun of a passing asian calling them a "**", or a hispanic and calling them a "**". Or how about how black men treat white women like trophies?

I am not going to lie, I find black women to be sexually appealing as well. But you don't see me treating a black woman as if she was a trophy waiting to be conquered.

I try to treat everyone equally- regardless of what I feel or think(most of the times).. unless of course the person goes out of hand(violence, harassment, disrespect, etc).

The whole black lives matter movement is a ** joke. Why call it black lives matter? Why not call it ALL LIVES MATTER? I am hispanic and we've been under racism from all kinds of ethnicity- including your own.

Fyi, it's spoken like blacks are some kind of victim- like they were the only ones to ever been enslaved. I guess your people never actually paid attention in history class-- particularly where it explains throughout history slavery has been common everywhere. In italy, their own people could become enslaved. In the areas the vikings hailed-- they enslaved the anglo-saxons.

In africa, when the whites were looking to enslave the indigenous people... a lot of the times it happened to be that their own african kin would either sell out their own kin, or just snitch on them.

Fyi, my people were enslaved by whites, and blacks enslaved their own. Pretty sure slavery has been a part of human history all together.

If you want to talk about atrocities, go look up what the africans did to their people in their own little war disputes, etc.

Without slavery, blacks wouldnt even be in the US

    • I don't profess to know anything, about the black communities in the US. There are many and every community is different.
I was born in the UK and reside there.

Race is irrelevant to me. We're all human-beings, regardless. I'm aware, not everyone see's the world this way.

Any form of prejudice needs to be eradicated, including racism.

Peace and respect, my fellow brethren :)

    • Part 2:

Like I said, if your ancestors weren't enslaved - you'd either never been born or say if by some miracle you were-- you would be in present day africa. Which by the way, is kind of a ** hole and if you don't think so- try living in those villages without any US currency, nothing other than the clothes on your back and tops a months worth of food supplies and a basic med kit.

Africa is actually getting better recently- but it's still not an advanced society... so you would probably be screwed with their plethora of diseases, famine, etc.

My real question is, why do people whine about racism, where in other countries-- they'd rather be subjected to racism and at least have all the stuff you guys have here?

Blacks living in poverty in the us-- still have it better than blacks living in africa in poverty. For the most part you have SOME medical care, can always go to a homeless shelter if you're dirt poor, there's always a soup kitchen near.

A lot of blacks just make ** poor choices because of influences of their peers. I come from a black community, so I would know.

    • I wasn't born in the US and I don't reside there either. I was born in the UK and reside there. The welfare and healthcare state in the UK is excellent, which surpasses many in other countries.
I'm lucky to be a British Citizen.

      I have a multi mixed heritage. But people assume I'm a 100% black. Anyways, that's irrelevant :)

I agree with the commentator, who stated it's about behaviour. I resided in a diverse disadvantaged social environment, as a child and teenager. I witnessed and experienced many things, from all racial groups. But I didn't blame and assume,
it was because of any specific racial group.

I came from a working-class, single parent family. My mother was a registered Nurse and she worked full-time hours to support three children, without any family and financial support. She instilled core values and morals within all her children to be; hardworking, respectful, responsible, resilient and honest.

Because of my mother, every single one of her children are high achievers and decent human beings, with no criminal records.
And the social environment outside of my family home as a child, which was negative, didn't influence my siblings and myself.
It didn't deter us from being and becoming, esteemed individuals.

Things may have been different, if we didn't have a fantastic role model as our mother. But we did and I'm grateful for her. I'm aware that some people, aren't as fortunate.

My point is, I'm an incredibly lucky individual, regardless of my race.
And just because I live a privileged life now, doesn't mean I don't have any knowledge, understanding and experience of; deprivation, prejudice, abuse and so forth. It's not good to make assumptions.

    • Making bad choices sometimes, isn't racial. It's human nature! No one is without faults, as we aren't perfect!

    • No. They're TOTALLY responsible.

    • Hmm, I think not! Treat everyone individually, not on the basis of race! We're all human beings, regardless of race and ethnicity.
We as mankind, need to unite together to reinforce eradication of racial discrimination and all forms of prejudice! You can't fight ignorance, with ignorance!!

    • Yes, of course, they most certainly are partly responsible. They cannot turn loose of the idea of it because to do so would eliminate their only claim to special treatment. And the media eats it up.

    • My race/ethnicity is black, but I'm also a person. I don't require and don't need any special treatment. I only want to be treated Iike a human being. Not a human being, whose black.
My ethnicity/race, doesn't define me as a person and I refuse to Iet anyone, define me by it :-)

    • Then why do your people constantly ** about getting special treatment for things they never even experienced themselves? Honestly, the slaves would had behaved a lot better than the current day african americans.

The whole riots, crimes, etc caused by your kinds is on you.

There's a saying "You reap what you sow". If you want to treat a cop like **, act like a delinquent, harass people, attack people, etc. Don't ** about racial profiling then.

Met plenty of your people who come off as a ** serial killer, **, **, drug dealers, etc.

    • I find your comment offensive, in regards to your term,"my people!"
Yes, I'm black! But I'm a person first and utmost! I'm an individual! Don't presume I require and demand special treatment, because of my race! I am one person and for you to generalize and stereotype that one person accounts for the majority of a specific racial group, you're behind ignorant!!

      Because you're ignorant doesn't mean,
I'm going to assume every person on earth is the same!! You're truly stupid!!

    • I'm not an African American, you presumptuous ignorant fool!!

    • Why are you stating, that one black person is accountable for all miscarriage of judgement/justice, in regards to the wider black community?! Are you mentality incapacitated!! What a idiotic statement to make!! The person you're being offensive towards, wasn't being racist. But you clearly are! Shame on you!
