I want to be transgender.
I am 10 and I cant express my feelings to my mom that i domt want a pink dress. I have all these girly clothes i just want to burn them. I want to shave my hair on one side. I want to dye my hair blue. I want to wear huge round glasses and not so girly overalls. Thats my future self, but im afraid if I tell my mom i feel transgender it would ruin my goal.
I will respond as if you really are 10. You probably haven't even hit puberty yet, and even after you do you still have years of exploring before you know what you really are.
If you want to be *truly* edgy, step away from the BS being fed to you that you have to be loudly fluid or trans or gay or whatever before you even know what those entail. You won't get tons of applause for it on IG if your "friends" are the herd animals they really are (but think they aren't), but there are tons of other ways you can be a Dramatic Teenager in a few years without going about it the way everyone else is.
Until your hormones are done messing with you, YOU. ARE. A. GIRL. Pink dresses are not required, and guess what? Neither is the drama really, despite everyone else being idiots around you. Of course, if you WANT to be a ** idiot, then ignore the wisdom above and go back to trying to make yourself seem special. Just know you won't be getting any attention or respect from anyone with half a brain!
That really ** to be in a position where you can’t talk to your mom. Just remember to be fully sure of yourself before telling anyone else so you won’t second doubt yourself. There are support groups out there for kids like you. I’m rooting for you
Some moms are nice and some are not. Thankfully mine was nice. I'm a guy and my mom found a girls leotard that I had "acquired' :) It had gotten pretty smelly because I'd never washed it. She washed it and put it in my underwear draw. I was mortified. She and dad talked to me and were really cool. Mom then bought me tights and a girls nightie to sleep in. I used to often wear the tights under my jeans. She even offered to buy me a dress and for us to drive somewhere where no one would recognise me but I was too afraid. in hindsight I wish I had had the guts.
