Raging fire

I almost set my back shed on fire after I dumped some old ash from the fire pit into the burn pile. Nobody told me though it wasn't old ash but from a small fire last night. Few hours later we're out there with a hose and buckets of water trying to dash down the fire before it could spread. My hands were raw red from that heat. Now there's this black patch out in the backyard
