Animal cruelty
I recently learned a terrible, true thing that happens to some wild animals. It's really upset me. I can't tell my friends and family because I don't want to upset them, but not telling them is starting to mess with my head. I'm hoping that confessing it here will help. I'll try and put lots of space, so don't read on if you think it would upset you.
Fishing nets lost overboard, or deliberately thrown overboard, can wash up in Canada and Alaska. If a reindeer gets too close, it gets tangled in their antlers. If it's the right time of year, they can shed the antlers, and if the net hasn't tangled around their whole body, they can get away. But if it's the wrong time of year, and they get too close to a tree, a rock or another reindeer...they're trapped until they starve, or a polar bear finds them.
