Anybody Feel Like They Missed Out on a "Soulmate?"
I was at a gathering/party at a local urban coffee shop that's been long closed and the light skinned, cutie with a booty girl that had been mingling and having fun approached me assertively to close the deal and exchange numbers. I had just broken up with my gf of 3 or 4 years because I didn't want to give my autonomy up and move in while she went to post grad school.
Me and the girl from the coffee shop talked for 6 hours straight on the phone the first time and the sparks were there. She admitted that the conversation was so good, she was ready to see what other kind of "connection" we had. She spent the entire next weekend at my apartment and I lost count of how many times we had s3x. She was in my tshirt only the whole time so all I had to to do was lift the shirt up and she was ready to go. She was wearing a patch so it was a "weapons free" weekend. When we weren't doing it, we were finishing each other's sentences and it was almost as if I had found the female version of me. She'd even blurt out her favorite things and they were mine as well. Music, actors etc. How many black women would say Kevin Spacey (before the allegations) was their favorite actor!? I'm like no way me too!
Fast forward a bit, after a lot of s3x and talking about everything under the sun in a short period, things fizzled down and I found myself talking to her about my ex constantly (realizing this in hindsight) even though this girl was almost superior in every way to my ex according to my tastes. She'd listen and offer advice and insight but after a while, she backed off more and more and our fling ended.
FF more time and I'm missing her. She was friends with a girl my homie knew and I'd hound him to try to get her new info but no luck. All of this was almost 20 years ago and I've since found her on FB and see that she's married to a really ordinary, boring looking guy. I'm married too now but I wonder if she was the one I should've been with and things just went to fast and the timing was bad.
Can anyone relate?
I miss my soulmate a lot. She lives in a different country now. She was my first girl in my 20s, a sweet girl whom I kissed first in my life and loved a lot. We both are in our 70+ yrs. Does she miss me?
