I can’t deal with my friend
I started arguing with my friend at the start of this year. It was small things that just built up, and he never apologised. Every time we argued he just acted like I was crazy and pushed my feelings aside. I started going back and questioning our entire friendship, and I’ve realised just how rude he’s been to me this whole time. And this whole time I just allowed him to treat me badly because I thought I kind of deserved it. I mean, he gets better grads than me, why shouldn’t he act a bit smarter, but it just kept going the more I thought about it the more I could articulate just how stupid he made me feel all the time. He never listened to anything I said, and when he offended me or when I asked him to stop doing something, he never would. Even stuff that he didn’t like people doing to him, he would do to me. And he never apologised but he’s been telling all our friends he’s really upset that we don’t speak anymore. I gave him another chance but he just blew it. He showed once again that he couldn’t care less about me. And the worst part is that not being close with him is killing me. I miss having him as a friend, but I can’t deal with talking to him. I miss when I thought he cared about me. All of the people around us just think I should forgive him because he never apologises to anyone, and he’s just
“Kind of like that” but I don’t want to be around someone who’s just like that! Why do I have to excuse his behavior? If he was ugly none of these people would ever forgive him. He says nasty **, borderline racist **, some definitely misogynistic **, but everyone just laughs it off because he’s hot. And now my best friend of like ten years has such a big crush on him that she can’t seem to see past it and listen to me. She’s just waiting for me to forgive him. I’m not sure I can
