Report cards are coming on in about a week and so far I have two B's and a couple low A's that can fall to become B's. Last year I was #2 of the sophmore class at my high school. If I get more than one B on my report card I do not know what I will do. I am getting sick just thinking of it.

  • Are you aiming for Ivy League schools? Even if you are, they accept plenty of students every year with B's on their transcripts - and occasionally even a C or two. I knew one guy who got accepted to Dartmouth two years ago. He didn't have anything outstanding in the way of SATs or extracurriculars, and he had several B's and a C his sophomore year. He said the reason he got in was because of his essays (he was a very good writer).

Think about it - these schools get thousands of applications every year, so admissions can only spend about 15 minutes on each application. As long as you have mostly A's, a couple of B's won't hurt. They will spend more time reading your college essays and recommendations than they will spend time looking over your transcript.

Hope you feel better. Just try your best in school and don't overexert yourself.
