Could have been better.
I confess that I am (and have been long-term) completely, passionately, in love with a lesbian who is half again my age. In terms of personality, behavior and interests, she literally matches the description I had in mind of the perfect woman. If she were a heterosexual I would have proposed to her, age difference be damned. Since she isn't, the option I've taken is to do my utmost to be the best friend to her that I can be, without ever letting her know how I really feel about her.
All the love in the world to you for still wanting to be her friend and be there for her.
