I have a crush
I am Kevin, I have had a crush on a girl named Victoria for a while now, and I'm not sure if we should be friends or go out. Even if I decide I want to go out with her, I'm not sure what my mom would think...
How old are you two? And why would your mom disapprove of Victoria?
I'm in high school, and I don't think she would disapprove but for some reason I don't want to talk about it with her.
Well you don't have to share everything with your mom. But if you're dating someone, you may want to introduce them to one another should it get to that point. I also think wanting to keep some things private from your parents is pretty normal when you're in high school. You're gaining your independence. But just remember, your mom is there when you need her. She probably will be very happy and supportive of you. Are you allowed to date? And in your post you said you have a crush on Victoria, what's holding you back from asking her out? Fear of rejection? Friendship changing? It may be harder on you if some other guy comes along and snatches her up. Ask her out, the absolute worse thing that happens is that she'll say no and she wants to remain friends. And that will be okay. You will survive and then you'll know, you can find another girl. So...when are you going to ask her? :-)
