I think you sound too whinney, maybe its not your looks but your outlook and atitude thats the real prodlem.

I know a guy like this, but in his mid 30's. Still clinging to a hope that he'll get a 'hot' girl who'll conform to his 'check list'. Its the stupidest thing ever. He's okay looking and makes a fair bit of money (lived in mothers house until he bought his new house outright), but is still a short chinese guy.

Nah, I wouldn't, unless you can think of a good topic of conversation that you know she'd be interested in. Having something in common is the best ice-breaker. You'd probably do better joining a club or group where you can meet people that you know have similar interests. And not chatting on the Internet, I mean in person.

You might be surprised, if you are a decent guy you can get a very nice woman. Don't compromise your standards. Just be sure to get out there and be seen, have friends introduce you to their female friends. It'll happen.
