My students...
I am a teacher at a middle school with a student body that is about 60% white, 30% Hispanic, and 10% black.
Those 10% of students that are black account for over 80% of the discipline problems at our school. Even as young as 10 (the youngest students we have at our school), the black students are confrontational with teachers and administrators. They talk back, disrespect, and are openly defiant to any white or Hispanic teacher. They will only sit and listen to a black teacher.
And they get it from their parents. The parents act the same way during conferences. Everything is an argument for them. Nothing is their own child's fault. I've even gone so far as to record my classes, so the parents and my boss can see how some of the students (all black) get up in class, wander the room, talk constantly, throw things, and distract the other students. Upon seeing this, the parents of one of those black students threatened to sue the school for the recording. (They can't. All parents sign a waiver about recording at the beginning of the year.) They weren't concerned that their child was causing so many disruptions. They were concerned that the teacher had evidence of it.
The white and Hispanic students are, mostly, respectful of all of the teachers.
Sometimes, I just want to stand in front of the class, and apologize to all of the other students. I want to say that I'm sorry that the black students have no self control and force me to change my lesson plans to accommodate their behavior problems. Any time we spend an entire class period doing worksheets, it's not because I want to. It's because that's the only thing the black students can handle. Group work? Creative work? Open-ended discussions? I've tried them. The black students simply can't handle the lack of structure. So I'm sorry, other students, that the 90% of you have to be punished for the problems of the 10%.

Gotta be honest..My hot older sister was a teacher for years, and often said the same thing.. When she'd get a black student (the town didn't have many, but more did move in), they were her biggest attention and discipline problem. The principal only got involved when the one black male student left her a note, saying he knew her schedule, when she was alone, and was going to ** her. She handles most problems fairly well, but that one shook her up. She knew exactly who it was, he was twice her size, and could easily have done it.
He ended up being hauled away in cuffs, for that and other things he'd done, and right to juvenile detention. For a small town like it was, something like that was both rare, and, remembered by everyone. "That black kid who wanted to ** the teacher".. Pretty strong image in people's heads.
I truly wish I had absolute power over this nation, like a president. Death squads and dictatorship would be mine, and I would exterminate filth like this. There must be a serious purge of people in this nation, black, white, Asian, Hispanic. A serious purge.

I Am black, sometimes I feel so ashamed of my own race, a lot of them were not raised right. That's why I thank god for my mother who raised me to respect people and have manners. At times I feel like apologizing for my own race, but that won't help. Not all of use are the same tho, judge each individual by their character please. Even when the whole group seems like rotten apples
Very well thought out, and very well said. You're so right: relatively few blacks display the behaviors described here, but when they do, that's all that anyone remembers. We are all at fault in that way. It's not that white people shouldn't allow these behaviors: society shouldn't allow them. Our culture is flawed.
