I am devastated that Craigslist has shut down Personals section
US Congress just passed HR 1865, "FOSTA", seeking to subject websites to criminal and civil liability when third parties (users) misuse online personals unlawfully.
Any tool or service can be misused. We can't take such risk without jeopardizing all our other services, so we are regretfully taking craigslist personals offline. Hopefully we can bring them back some day.
To the millions of spouses, partners, and couples who met through craigslist, we wish you every happiness!
With that,may favorite source of ** for decades has shut down. I have no words to express my loss. I feel destroyed. I have no clue where I will go to hook up with married women discreetly. Why will Congress choose to take away my source of happiness?
It's just one indication as to why we can't have nice things. Their message said it all: "Any tool or service can be misused." Look at this place, same exact story. Look at literally any place or concept meant to make human life better, we're such a fuckedup species that we can't let those things exist without making a mess of them.
So like someone else said, dry your tears and go get a Tindr account. That's a cesspit too, surprise surprise. But it's still around, for now.

I got catfished on CL. I was able to trace the guy down and it turned out to be someone I know. I went to my very good friend who also knows the guy. My friend told me this guy has been catfishing on CL for years just for fun. Gets people to drive all over for meet ups that obviously never happens. So something good has become of the end of CL personals.
