I work at a child care facility and today, one of the children came up to me and asked to sit next to me during lunch which came before it was time for them to leave. Naturally, I said, "Okay." being the pushover that I am. When we sat next to each other, it was only the two of us, and I couldn't help but notice that she had a funny look on her face. At some point, I noticed I was missing ketchup so I went up to get it. When I returned to the table, I noticed she had a funny look on her face again. She was even blushing. Again, I asked her, "What's wrong?" when she didn't answer, I tried to pick up where we left off. "So, do you have any girl crushes?" Shocked, she slowly nodded her head. "Today, she was wearing a blue shirt, dark pants, and boots." all the while looking me up and down. "Oh." is all I could respond, as I realized she had described exactly what I was wearing. I didn't have the heart to reject her, so I pretended to be distracted by a group of kids from my class who weren't doing anything wrong. I decided to excuse myself, and catch up with them to give them the option to get help on their project with me for the rest of the lunch period. They all agreed, which meant I didn't have to be alone with the girl anymore. She kept a smile on her face the whole time, but she looked so disappointed. I am sorry I was not able to give you closure.
