learn from your mistakes???
i find that often times, i love/fall into the wrong person or group of people before i end up with someone or people that i'm happy with.
ex: i had a crush on this one guy for an entire year, but when school ended and i asked him to sign my yearbook, he wrote something provocative. however, when his best friend, who i'd never paid much mind to, signed, he actually remembered my name and wrote a sentimental note
ex 2: in my choir at school, there's always been this group of people who seem more like they're friends with our director rather than his students, and they hang out in his office a lot and talk to him personally and some even talk about texts and calls they've had with him. i wanted to be a part of this group for a while, until i made friends with some other people in my choir who showed me that all the fun is out in the room instead of the teacher's office, and that the group i wanted to be with are looked on as 'teacher's pets'
