Shadows of Despair
Jack and Ashley huddled together in the dimly lit basement, the flickering light from a single battery-powered lantern casting long shadows across their faces. The air was heavy with the stench of rotting meat and stale sweat. Outside, the inhuman moans and thumps echoed through the abandoned building, reminding them they were never truly safe.
Jack ripped open another can of rancid tuna, emptying it into a rusted tin cup. “**, this stuff is disgusting! But it’ll do,” he grumbled, shoving it towards his sister. “Eat up, Ash.”
