America...Why Are You So Loyal to the 2 Party System?
In my middle age, I've come to realize that we go through the flip flop of swapping this party for that party, and we continue on our downward trajectory. At what point do we say that our current 2 party system is a joke? Especially when you consider that both of them serve corporate interests over the general population, and they really agree on the things that count.
How can you trash the other party and say nothing about getting money out of politics? Our politicians work mainly for banking interests, the military industrial complex and foreign ethnostates that pay big money to run candidates that will cater to their needs, not yours.
How do all of your convictions and views fit neatly into one of two boxes? How does science become political? Can I not believe in a strong fiscal policy while also thinking that we should be better stewards of the earth?
These days, I can guess someone's entire worldview just based on one comment about one subject. When I engage people in political debate and I'm not picking a side, most people don't even know how to reply. You can't bring up Kamala and those darn libtards, or Trump and the Magats because I don't care for either.
And guess what? Sometimes the republicans are right, and sometimes the democrats are right. Sometimes, they're both wrong.
I don't even care who you vote for next month. I just question you on why you're so gung ** about your candidate. Harris will keep us on the fast track to the abyss, but Trump is not a savior himself. I do think we have a 5% less chance of WW3 under Trump though, but that's not my raving endorsement.
We often say we're voting the lesser of two evils but why don't we give 3rd parties a more serious look? If you vote out of fear for the other party, or vote for the winning horse, you're really validating the bad behavior of our politicians. We say we want better but keep supporting these clowns.
Just my hot take before I move on to my studies.
America has a two party system because it works. You got something better? Two party system or not you can write in a candidate for whomever you want.
