32 years ago I ruined the day of three smart alecs.
I was 45 at the time and I had a bit too much to drink. Three younger patrons were giving the bartender a hard time which ** me off but I didn't say anything yet.
They got to the cashier and the guy there told the lady at the cash register "gimme my change" I said "Give that ** his change, maybe he'll leave".
They got to cussing me and I cussed back and in the meantime the bartender had called the police. They arrived and arrested all three of them. Nothing happened to me even though I was as much to blame for the scene as they were.
The police arrested all three of them hands cuffed behind their back as the crowd in the bar cheered. The cops had waited until the guy started his car and he the driver got a DWI.
After all these years I have come to realize they weren't that bad and I was as sorry as they were or worse. I deserved a DWI big time but they got one and I did not.
So the cops handcuffed and arrested them and then took the handcuffs off to allow one of them to drive his car before once again arresting him? Here’s a suggestion: When you tell a fantasy story, try to at least have some logical sense.
