My step father lived to be 92
He was a great guy and I'm glad he lived that long. He went to the doctor, watched his diet and had no bad habits like smoking etc. He often made doctors appointments.
One day he complained about not being able to breath properly. I called for an ambulance and he was taken to the hospital. Despite treatments he passed away anyway.
For the next eight weeks after his death he would get calls from doctors asking why he failed to make his appointments. It was embarrassing to tell them he had died. They were always full of apologies.
I don't want to live as long as he did. When he was young he was hale and hardy. Strong and intellligent. A great guy.
Old age turned him into a small scared old man. I hated to see the change.
