I don't know what to do.

My parents have always gotten really good grades, but me and my brother both had trouble in high school. Thing is, my brother got better afterwards, now everyone loves him and he's a great student. I'm still in high school, everyone thinks I'm doing well too, and my brother keeps talking about how proud of me he is. Truth is, I have Ds and Fs in most of my classes. I am missing 9 history assignments(going on 10), I barely have a D in Physics, I forgot to do the one graded assignment in band, I missed most of the assignments in Spanish this quarter, I have a scene tomorrow in Acting which I'm not at all ready for, and I'm exhausted. The quarter ends Friday and I don't know what I'll do when they find out that they have nothing to be proud of.

  • The traditional learning structure of high school doesn't work for everyone. People think and process information in different ways. Tell you're parents you ARE trying, but that you need help. If they see that you're willing, they should be able to support you and hook you up with a tutor/life coach or facilitate a transfer to a different sort of school. Maybe you should also get checked for ADD or a learning disability. Don't get discouraged, but get to work on figuring out the best way for you to learn.
