Happy Fraking Holidays!

This is for those who have a problem with the phrase "happy holidays". I tend to use Merry Christmas a lot, since it is the holiday my family celebrates, even though we dont celebrate the religious holiday, we used the day to give gifts to our loved ones to show that we love and cherish them.

But when talking to others i tend to use happy holidays. Not because i want to be PC and not offend anyone, but because i want to include everyone. to the uber christians: would you be offended if someone cheerily wished u a happy Hanukkah? im guessing so.

SO what is wrong with happy holidays...its not like people go around saying "** you, baby jesus"! no. its just polite and seeing as most families i know are like mine and are more likely to think about santa than jesus on christmas i dont see the problem.

    • I agree. My family is mostly unbaptized, but of a strongly Catholic heritage. I see much of religion as simplistic stories which, while somewhat relevant, don't really help me in the modern world. Perhaps the modern world has become too evil to be compatible? Anyway, I just do my own thing to my own drummer and try very hard to stay respectful and mindful of others. I even try to see things from the point of view of angry people to maybe understand where they're coming from and possibly do something to de-escalate them. I don't mind Starbucks' generic pine and red motif.

    • There's not a thing wrong with "happy holidays", there are many holidays around Christmas time not just the one. Religious poseurs are desperate to either judge others or cry persecution, one or the other. Those are the ones who have a problem. Yes, they would flip the fvck out if you said "happy Hanukkah", because it's not CHRISSSSSTMASSSSSS. Leave them in the dirt like the morons they are and enjoy the season!

    • "would you be offended if someone cheerily wished u a happy Hanukkah?" ** no, only people stupid enough to believe in a god of some sort would take offense. And rightfully they should, seeing as taking offense of something non-offensive is stupid, it kinda follows suit.
