A friend is dating a high rank person

A friend is dating a high rank person she works with, and I used to work there, too. I blabbed that I was happy for her there. She's (understandably) **. No one heard, but I feel like a **, and I keep appologizing and she's just not talking to me.
Is this the type of beef that judt takes time to heal? Should I just give her space?
