We're not cute like other couples..But maybe its a good thing

My boyfriend and I have been together for three years, yet we don't act like other couples. Never have. We're not constantly talking about each other, we don't have pictures of each other plastered all over everything, and when I'm around my girl friends I'm not bragging about him like they all do about theirs. Everyone else seems so happy in their relationships and we seem just..there. And from time to time I'll admit, I am a bit jealous of those cutesy couples.

I've noticed that the couples who seem so happy are your typical on-again off-again couples, where shes mentioning his name every fifth word one day, and miserable because they "broke up" for the fiftieth time this year the next. Then two days later, they're together again.

People always assume that I'm miserable because I don't act this way, but the thing is, we have the attitude of an old married couple. Do I p*** him off sometimes? Sure. Does he p*** me off sometimes? Absolutely! But we've never broken up. We're together, we care about each other, and don't need to convince the world of it.

  • Thats a REAL relationship.
granted there should b some cutesy times..
but hey ud just have to work at it a bit (both of you)
as long as you two love and care for each other, thats all the matters. much better to have a real relationship then an on-again off-again stress ball of one. :)

  • My husband and I are the same way.

I can't stand people who have to wear the current condition of their relationships on their sleeves, at all times.
