I'm 19, 225 pounds, and I'm 5'5.
Sometimes I feel like such a whale. I hate the way I look sometimes. I wish I could learn to love myself and start doing daily exercise....

  • Diet and excercise.....

  • You are young enough to get in shape easily. Just decide you want to do it. It will get harder when you get older.

  • Unless there is a medical cause for your weight, you're the only one who is going to change it. You are the only one who can change your opinion about yourself. Even if you are overweight that is no reason to not love yourself. Nobody else's opinion matters but your own.

  • Exercise is great for building muscle, if you want to lose weight the most efficient way is to control your intake. This assumes, of course, that you have a normal thyroid. If you do a good job controlling your intake but don't see any progress after a few months talk to a doctor about getting your thyroid tested.

  • If you can't "love" yourself, work on liking yourself. Just do little things to make you feel good. Call up friends to walk instead of going out to eat. Or hire a personal trainer for a couple of sessions. Join weight watchers to help get your food intake in check. Sometimes when you pay for things you become more accountable to make those changes. And when you see the changes you'll be more motivated to do more..and that can change your outlook on how you feel about yourself. Even treating yourself is helpful. Buy some new clothes, make up, get your hair done, mani/pedi, facials, massage..etc. Pay attention to you. Reward yourself with something other than food. But nothing will change unless you do something, anything.
