If you work for a sophisticated company don't curse

I was employed at a bank when I for some idiotic reason cursed. I was frustrated and I said G******. The HR head was behind me and she gave me a horrible look which I richly deserved. I should have learned my lesson but I was stupid.

A month or so later I met a pretty girl and after a short conversation I walked into the mailroom.

Once there I told the manager about the new girl who was pretty and he jokeingly said. "Well you like skanks".

I thought I;d be cool and I blurted out like an idiot. "I don't like no skanky smelly p****"..

There was a lady behind me and she went to the already angry HR head and five minutes I was fired.

In my life I had never before done anything quite so stupid. The job was a good one but what hurts most is how stupid I was to say what I said.

If this can save someone else from the same embarrassment then this post is worth it.

I have another job and I've had this new job for eight years. Not one cuss word has escaped from my lips nor one dirty phrase or joke has come out of my mouth.

  • I hate how ridiculously casual this world has become. I think it's because of people speaking stupidly on reality TV. People think it's perfectly normal to swear or make sexual remarks in a place of business. Obviously you can be and were fired for making sexual remarks or using foul language.
If it's censored on TV, DON'T use such language at work. Think before you speak! Don't fall into somebody else's trap of swearing or speaking casually.
