Yeah you want to make plans with me?

I'm a happily newlyweds at 47. This year has been amazing. First time homeowner, just married to a great guy, gorgeous wedding, dress, diamonds. 5 bridesmaids came to be in my wedding from 5 different states. Day in and day out, I do meaningful work that I am good at and appreciated for. I'm a beloved, sister, auntie, daughter...

My faults:
Low self esteem, yoyo weight loss and gain, history of struggles with disability issues that have negatively impacted my education and earlier career and earlier relationships.

My confession:
As loving and wonderful as I am to others, when people ask to make plans with me I think their is something wrong with them. I feel repulsed by the fact that they actually want to ring in the new year with me.
Wanting to get over it but don't know how.

  • Dear Friend.
Congratulations to you for all the good things in your life. And for the bad, please get therapy so that you can be more of the person that you want to become.

  • Congratulations! You are loved in so many ways. Whatever has transpired in your past, let it go. You are starting a new life with a new love in a new place.. Tell yourself daily how awesome you are, because you are. That's why people want to bask in the glow of your amazing-ness. You know it. Weightloss.. you are not alone. Weight loss can be more mental than anything. Instead of you doing drugs or drinking, you eat. So maybe go to a therapist to process some things that are holding you back. For eating and exercising - you can take the weight off. But to keep it off, you have to find what your triggers are and change that. MAKE PLANS with people. The "repulsed" feeling you feel needs to be changed. Talk with someone about this . You deserve happiness and to enjoy the company of your friends.
