When You Jump Ship

I left a really geeky jerkwad for his best friend 4 years ago. We now have 3 snakes and a gecko together and pretty great jobs. This coming May, we're going to Yosemite for a week because I've never been, and he's so excited for us.

However, we went through a rough patch a few months ago where his family stopped liking me and started treating us like s*** for being together, and ever since they started that drama with us It's gotten way too easy to go throughout my day without talking to him at all. I love him so dearly, and we want to get married but I feel awful for being so distant. They're trying to drive me away from him.

  • Hi, look there seems there are some issues you guys need to hammer out before you consider marriage, but you can see this happening you need to stop it. If you don't want to pay attention to him, or can't bring yourself to due to lingering resentments - someone else will. Then he'll jump ship too. Change the course of this. It's as simple as making a consorted effort NOT to be distant.
