28 years ago today my mom died. She died in a crackhouse, her body then dumped in a lot and found days later. It was 28 years ago. But to me it was only yesterday. This is the legacy of drug abuse. I had to tell someone. She may have been forgotten by most of the world but not by me.

I've been waiting over 30 years for the sunshine.
So very sorry for your loss. Regardless of how she died, she was still a mother, daughter, wife and friend and hopefully you can remember and cherish the good times. Maybe you can do something special to remember her by..planting flowers or lighting a candle.

What the rest of the population think is irrelevant, in regards to your mother's memory. All that matters, is how you feel about your mother.
Her memory lives on with you and close social networks, if you have any. However, do you try to remember positive memories of your mother if any, instead of the negative gloomy one's? It might give you more comfort
